Whilst out for a run around the reservoir saw several Merganser's 4 female 3 males, also on the west bank up from overflow in to upper Rivington in a holly bush Redwings and Fieldfares.

Whittle Birds

Around 11.00am this morning we had 5 buzzards over Watkin Rd, then Peregrine perched on St Johns church 14.45pm. 2 Ravens over Watkin Rd soaring/displaying around 15.00pm.

Migrant Blackbirds

A fishing friend of mine from Salford sent me some images of Blackbirds with black beaks, they are beautiful. Has anyone from our area seen any of these??

Watermans Cottage.

Went fishing today, whilst sat under my brolly a Hare ran round the back of me. Around 40 Mallards. A friend of mine said he was on Back Ln yesterday and a Weasel came and took one of his discarded baits(Herring)

Lower Rivington

Whilst out mooching about saw a pair of Goldcrests mixed flock of tits, pair of Kestrels and Kingfisher near conversation area up near school.Also lots of Mallards and Gulls.

Do you think the fish could of been a Salmon,

UU are dropping levels on all reservoirs up Rivington, to do some work on Upper Rivington.

Ive just googled Black Tern, not one of them it was PURE White. It was on far bank to me so a good distance didnt see any black head though.??

Neil,

It did not dive, just flew around 20ft in the air slight side to side action then over dam wall towards White Coppice.

Hi, Whilst fishing today seen from opposite bank from me. Im not sure which kind it was but was quite small, it headed off towards White Coppice.
