Spring

A Queen Early Bumblebee Bombus pratorum was sunning herself in the garden at lunchtime.
Long Tailed Tits seen carrying nesting material in our garden today and in a neighbour's yesterday. Certainly two different pairs.

Euxton birds

Had a walk around the block today. Amongst more regularly seen birds were a Male Brambling in Euxton Hall Woods, a Kingfisher on the river at Pincock and a Dipper at Armetriding.

Fallow Deer

Woke this morning to see 6 Fallow Deer in the field next door. They are still there now (2.20pm)
Four of them are almost pure white.

Walked along the Yarrow Pincock to Shaw Green and back 3pm - 4pm. Not a lot about.
50 Fieldfare & 10 Redwing feeding on Hawthorn. 4 Grey Wagtails feeding in a small ditch. Buzzard overhead.
One Brown Hare. Lots of Rabbits.

On Thursday 20th October we have David Winnard returning to Chorley to talk on "Greater Manchester's Hidden Wildlife". David is a really good speaker and great photographer. He is sure to be well worth hearing. 7.30pm Thursday 20th October at St Mary's Parish Centre, Devonshire Road, Chorley
