Ive just had a good look at one of my birds book titled The Hobby by Anthony Chapman ( well worth purchasing) , going off the photos it looks like a adult bird ( red showing on the legs) it takes around 2 months from eggs being laid to the birds leaving the nest which would suggest to early for a ju...

Evening walk.

Spotted a single Tern over the BMX track as i was walking off , thanks for the walk Nora :D .

Just got back from the moss were i was hoping for some owls , when i arrived a single barn owl was hunting but soon went out of sight another bird appeared later on also 3 cormorant , 2 kestrel , flock of around 20 swallow , and whitethroat still singing in near darkness.

Heard a spotted a single redpoll flying over , garden warbler singing near the railway bridge , plenty of house martin feeding chicks on the new estate near the railway bridge , 3 oystercatcher flew over .

A post breeding flock of around 40 lapwing were on a flooded wheat field as was a single heron and 3 mallard , several kestrels were hunting and a single buzzard was calling out regular , the suprise of the evening was a single peregrine which appeared to be hunting swallows before flying up to the ...

I spotted a flock of over 20 tree sparrow and 3 buzzard also spotted the flock of mistle thrush the other day but forgot to post it .

Flooded field near buy a bike on the A49/back lane/parkhall

Not a single bird on the flooded field this morning only plenty of water , back lane several lapwing and 1 oystercatcher , park hall lake , several mallard , 2 adult coot and 3 juv , 1 mute swan .

Parbold Hobby.

Had a great view of a Hobby this afternoon , the alarm call of the swallow made me look upwards as the Hobby dashed by , the majority of all my hobby sightings have happened this way were ive heard the alarm call before seeing the bird.

Ive put a couple of photos on the second page of my gallery of the latest plant id required the flowers were growing near a ditch in a traditional hay meadow in Eccleston.

Tawny owl .

Spoke to someone last night who witnessed a young tawny owl being fed by a adult on a telegraph wire near his house in the last few days ( bannister lane area Eccleston)

Got caught in a thunderstorm which maybe silenced any quail but managed to spot a pair of grey partridge , 5 singing corn bunting , 2 juv little owl with a adult but the highlight was a garden warbler in full song near the little owl sight .
