MARSHSIDE..

A Thursday afternoon visit to marshside, Great weather but not that much action. The highlight was a beautiful female Merlin hopping from one post to the next. Also there was no sign of the long billed dowitcher. This bird has been reportedly seen each day for at least three weeks on some websites. ...

BIRDFAIR 2009

Me and the wife went to RUTLAND WATERS to the BIRDFAIR on saturday. It was great to visit the reserve, its massive, me and the Mrs. walked for miles in BEAUTIFUL WEATHER, which made a change. The Birdfair was very good with lots of things to do and see - LECTURES, ECO HOLIDAYS, lots of ARTWORK, CONS...

Hi all,

The bird in question was still present on Sunday afternoon at martin mere around 13:00. It was hanging out with a hill of ruffs on a small island facing the utilities hide.

Favorite spot was the mull of Galloway... and two new birds for me and the Mrs. ROCK PIPIT & BLACK GUILLEMOT...

Hi Lee,

A local little owl hangs around in trees ...opposite the ADULT RUNSHAW COLLEGE LEYLAND..whinny lane ... drive slowly down the lane and on your right you will see four big trees in a line. There's usually a LITTLE OWL sitting in the third tree from the road...

Two of which were sitting on a buoy proudly posing for me.

Hi all,

A quick visit to BROCKHOLES Sunday afternoon 14:00-16:00

What a sight, a beautiful lonely RED NECKED GREBE in summer plumage..

Also, merganser with a brood, Whimbrel, LRP and the usual birds...
Heard a Garden Warbler but didn't get to see it...

BRILLIANT....

Plex Moss Lane... A Beautiful Cattle Egret with orange crown and yellow bill hanging out with the cows. Birkdale Front.... The usual Dunlins, Knots and some glorious Grey Plovers in full summer plumage with black belly's and silver coats. Marshside... Majestic Avocet’s sitting on eggs what a delight...
