Re: Peregrine
That's very interesting Dave because you'd expect the falcon to be on eggs by now.

Re: Young Robin.
Yes it's very early Len, in fact the head warden David Mower wasn't too sure until I showed him the images on my camera.

Young Robin.
My wife spotted this young robin at Leighton Moss on Tuesday afternoon. It was hanging out in thick scrub waiting to be feed by the adults. We were both pleasantly surprised to see a robin fledgling so early in April. http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/ad34/Ivan_Lynas/rf1_zps101844a5.jpg http://i919...

Re: Bank Vole.
Cheers Peter and Len, I took this image with a 100 mm macro lense, infact all my images have been taken with this particular lense this year. I also intend to concentrate mainly on macro photography this spring and summer.

Nutty, Leighton Moss 24/03/2014.
I snapped this nuthatch enroute to the Tim Jackson hide on Monday afternoon. Whilst in the hide my wife and I were treated to an aerial courtship display by two marsh harriers at the rear of the pool, a great sight for sore eyes!! http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/ad34/Ivan_Lynas/nhf1_zps8e9b14c8.j...

Re: Is it natural for the female swan to leave?
Hi Gary, I certainly dont think this is natural behaviour for a swan and I fear that there is going to be a very sad outcome from what you've told us. This is very, very depressing news indeed!

Re: Jenny Banks, Leighton Moss 11.03.14
I used a canon 100mm macro lense to take this shot. At the time I was sat on a folding stool photographing wrens when the vole caught my eye peering out of a hole in the ground. Infact, if you look closely into its right eye you can see me sat on the stool. I was looking down on the subject and it w...

Cheers Len, you quickly realise just how cute bank voles are when you manage to snap them close up like this.

Re: Marsh Tit, Leighton Moss 25/02/14.
Cheers Chris and Len, this image clearly shows the dull white patch at the base of the birds bill which distinguishes it from its much rarer cousin the willow tit. Sadly there are no willow tits on Leighton Moss.

Re: Marsh Tit, Leighton Moss 25/02/14.
Cheers Peter, you usually hear these little birds before you see them and I know from experience that winter is the best time to photograph them because of the relatively bare canopy.
