Relatively small roost with c1500-2000 gulls which started near the castle and then drifted north joining a second smaller roost towards the north end. The light and conditions were good for viewing. Lunchtime visit from the Rufford end to get the light for the geese on Great Close. I reckon there must have been c5000 Pink Footed Geese although ran out of time and didn’t pick out the weekend’s Barnacle or anything else unusual. Still, it was quite a spectacle. Common Sandpiper still on floods opposite E shaped Ponds with c100 Canada Geese.

Tried the roost this evening but much lower numbers than Neville last week with less than 500 to just before 7pm

c200 LBB. 30-40 Herring. c200 BH Gull.
1 GBB and 1 Common.

Otherwise, 3 Pied Wagtail, 3 Canada Goose, c15 Mallard, 1 GC Grebe and 2 Grey Heron.
