eccleston knowles wood.

Had a brief walk this evening , spotted a mallard on a nearby pond with some small ducklings were there was also lots of marsh marigolds in full flower , heard chiffchaff , blackcap and gs pecker in the wood .

Willow warbler , blackcap and chiffchaff were all singing yesterday also odd swallow , 2 stock dove , 4 buzzard , 2 song thrush , blue and great tit , sparrowhawk .

BRIMSTONE AT ECCLESTON ON 9/4/11 , HOLLY BLUE IN MY GARDEN 10/4/11 , also 1 male orange tip flying through eccleston football fields 10/4/11.

At least 3 singing blackcap , more chiffchaff , 2 willow warbler , fem bullfinch , 2 tree sparrow , heard buzzard , heard curlew , stock dove , great tit nest building , witnessed a goldcrest bathing in a ditch a first for me , spotted a bank/field vole in a hedge , several grey squirrel and 1 hare .

Recorded 50 species of birds ,5 mammal species and 2 butterfly species highlights were , 2 housemartin ( first for the year for me , at mawdesley near robin hood pub) 6 chiffchaff ,3 blackcap , willow warbler , tree sparrow 10+ , at least 4 wheatear on the moss ( poss8) 7 oystercatcher ,plentyof sky...

Eccleston syd brook yesterday.

Had a good view of a blackcap singing , chiffchaff , nuthatch , kestrel , plenty of butterflies , 2 peacock feeding on blackthorn blossum , small t shell, small/ gv white? , plenty of butterflies passing through while working at burscough.

mawdesley , 2 swallow flying over the main road this morning .
eccleston , syd brook , male blackcap singing again , 1 chiffchaff singing , pair of teal , g s pecker , nuthatch at nestsite ,1 kestrel near cricket field and 2 pied wagtail on the cricket field .
