Kingfisher just near bridge 79 -first I've seen here -there are large shoals of sticklebacks in the canal so hopefully will be back; 3 buzzards circling over fields west of Blackburn Rd; coal tit; wren; magpie; 8 mallard on canal; goldfinch (10+); longtailed tit flock; 10+ jackdaws. 3 house sparrows...

Grey heron; mute swan; 8 mallard; 10 BH gull on canal.
Robin, 6+ goldfinch, 10+ jackdaw; 2 carrion crow;12 woodpigeon; 3 jay, collecting acorns.

Little Knowley

80+ starling, 30+ jackdaw, 8 rook in fields with horses; 2 linnet; family of house sparrows on Knowley Brow -c.10; juvenile song thrush KO'd in collision with window on Knowley Brow (seemed OK when moved somewhere safer).

Earlier, 4 house martin over Gt Knowley
