An afternoon ringing session in the garden today 14.45 - 1600 produced great tit 2m 1f goldfinch 2m 1f longtailed tit 1 robin 1 and a cracking adult male grey wagtail the first one to be ringed in our garden. early morning ringing visit to arley this morning produced a good mix of small passerines mostly titmice crests and a couple of blabi before the wind picked up and nets where taken down as I left the reserve a group of four guns were setting out pigeon decoys in near by field as I reach the causeway...

In previous years we have taken in orphan owlets including several tawnys one particular female used to make a warbling noise in her rehab aviary when ever a male would call in the wood at the rear of the garden. Siskins are still coming to food in the garden but in lesser numbers than previously with just 12 in the garden at 15:10hrs but redpoll numbers have doubled from 2 on friday to 4 today. :D :D

Siskins are still coming into garden in good numbers with up to 30 in the garden today a short hour and half ringing session at first light this morning resulted in another 19 birds being caught and ringed bringing the siskin total for our garden so far this year to 261
