Healey Nab Sunday 23 Jan 2011

Again not much to report this week, but noted: Mixed blue and great tits, and 1 heron at Lower Healey, Large group of 100+ fieldfares, several crows, 3 jays, 1 GS Wood, group of 10 or so LT tits. Earlier in the morning a group of 8 Pinkfoots flew over the house heading east towards the Nab.

Healey Nab Sunday 16th January 2011

Very wet today on the Nab and I think most of the wildlife had stayed indoors! Nothing much to report apart from: Several Crows, 1 Wren, 1 Robin, a small mixed flock of tits, 1 Jay. 15 Wood Pigeon, 1 Blackbird, 2 Magpie, and from a reliable source 1 Buzzard at Lower Healey. Roll on Spring!

Healey Nab 9th January 2010

Mainly quiet on the Nab today, but still managed to record: small groups of blue and great tits, 1 GS Woodpecker, several crows and woodpigeons, a small group of 20 fieldfares and 2 redwings. One (F) Roe deer and 1 brown hare.

I also use a 100 - 400 lens which as already suggested is very versitile, but my friend from Scotland has been using a fixed 300 F2.8 for many years and has produced some fantastic pictures.
