Kestel in same area every day this week off Tinklers Lane was hunting over a rough field this morning. Both Buzzards in the air together, no bother from the Crows today. 1 Curlew, 500+ Woodpigeon, 2 pairs Mallard on river.

I am told foxhunting has continued throughout the country, upto 47 packs roaming the West Country several times a week. Not one hunt has been lost since the ban. They call it 'hunting within the law'. I am not an expert nor involved in any form of killing any animal, just passing on what I have read...

Not as much activity as yesterday down the Yarrow. Kestrel sat on perch reguarly used by the Buzzard. Cormorant following the river down from Euxton to Croston, heard a Woodpecker in the big wood on Sydbrook/Grape Lane. Pair of Canada have returned to the same pond they usually nest at, saw them for the first time this year. Also 1 Buzzard on regular perch and a Heron by the Yarrow.

Pair of Ravens and a pair of Peregrines at Warton Crag. All 4 birds active and easy to veiw from the car park over the weekend. A couple of brilliant battles in the sky when the Peregrine gets annoyed with his noisey neighbours.

2 Teal overhead. Over 100 Starling, up to 50 Jackdaw, 10 redwing and 10 Lapwing all feeding in one big group on open field where the snow/ice has thawed. 2 Buzzard in the same area but not as close together as they were yesterday.
