Anglezarke moors

The moors were covered in low cloud for much of the day so sightings were few and far between. c10 Skylark including 2 singers, Raven and Red Grouse heard, single Lapwing at Hordern Stoops. 41 Goosander, 8 Mandarin and 4 Tufted Duck on Yarrow reservoir at dusk.

Also a small bat, I'm guessing it was a Pipistrelle.

Deathly quiet on the moors today, apart from a small party of Carrion Crows the only birds seen were a couple of Coal Tit and a single Wren in the dead forest, a female Stonechat near Hempshaws. Eyes Lane

Early afternoon visit.

300+ Starling, 400+ Woodpigeon, 10+ Fieldfare, 3 Buzzard.

3 Little Egret, 2 Pied Wagtail and c40 Black-headed Gulls were the only birds on the flooded fields.

On the River Douglas at Red Bridge, 200-250 Canada Geese, 2 Greylag Geese, 50+ Mallard, 30+ Teal, 17 Moorhen.
