Large number of Swifts

At least 20 Swifts over Ash Grove in Chorley this evening, screeching and wheeling around the houses.
Fantastic watching their aerobatics.

It had a very distinctive white face.

Mining Bees

Hundreds of Ashy Mining Bees with a few Tawny Mining Bees on the lawned area near Cafe Ambio in Astley Park.
Also 1 Tawny Mining bee on the steps down to Morrisons from King St.

Red Kite

A Red Kite was circling over Chorley Business and Technology Ctr off Euxton Lane yesterday at 4.10pm.
A pleasant surprise, I watched it as I was sat in the car park waiting for my wife to finish work.
After a couple of minutes it drifted off to the West.

1 female Goosander on Astley Hall lake, and on the way home there was 1 Raven calling repeatedly from the top of the police station.
