Worthington Lakes

Pair of mandarins amongst the teals. 2 mealy redpolls amongst a group of approx 15 lesser redpolls in Arley Woods. Lots of activity with several mixed groups of tits, goldcrest, treecreepers and nuthatches. Female great spotted woodpecker but sadly no lesser spotted.

Not seen a tawny for a month or two, heard a female for a few nights about a fortnight ago. I do see them in the same area and also around Doorway To Value. Although I've not heard it recently, a male tawny occasionally roosts in the tall trees beside Doorway To Value.

Buckshaw Barn Owl

Barn owl flew over the road and circled around Multipart car park at 8pm last night. I occasionally see tawny owls but this is the first barn owl I've seen here. It flew back across to the Mossfield Reserve after a few minutes.
