Great crested grebe, mallard, grey wagtail on the lake;Redwing feeding on hawthorn by the lake; Jays, LTT, nuthatch, blackbird, coal tit, Great spotted woodpecker, chaffinch, greenfinch all near the Barn. 2 Red Admiral flying as well

The best place is just down stream of the stone bridge in the Lostock, and the long thin pond slightly south of there by the path. If you go on the park very early in the morning in June (0500) photographing them is a little easier

No not the adult version. During a week of river studies by Penwortham Girtls High School we saw no less than three or four Banded Demoiselle nymphs each day. This would amount to twenty adults. We can therefore look forward next summer to another good display of this dazzling creature

Hello Cliff, I am one of those people who dislike mink intensly. I have seen them decimate the watervole population on Cuerden, and kill young birds apparantly for fun rather than food
