Walking round Kem Mill Cuerden Valley Park this afternoon produced sightings of dipper, grey wagtail, 130 black headed gulls, buzzard, several crows, 7 goldfinch, 4 bullfinch, chaffinch, long tailed tits. and heard single singing chiffchaff. Cuerden Valley Park Lake : goosander, great crested grebe, moorhen, Canada goose, mallard, black headed gull.
Cuerden View Cafe : buzzard ( being chased by crows), coal tit, blue tit, great tit, robin, blackbird, goldfinch.

Walked to the cafe today and passed the Lake. 14 goosanders, 34 blackheaded gulls, 26 mallards, a single mute swan, 2 moorhens and 2 grey herons. Good variety of creatures seen during river studies today. We had about 10 banded demoiselle nymphs, a bull head, the usual mayfly and fresh water shrimp and a tiny toy fox. Other sightings included a buzzard, a goosander and about 6 jays
