Farne Islands

I was on the Farne Islands earlier in the week. Absolutely fantastic! Puffins (some 40,000) Guillemots, Razor Bills, Arctic, Common and Sandwich Terns, Shags, Cormorants, Eider Ducks, Kittiwakes, Herring Gulls, Black Headed Gulls and Grey Seals. All very close. Trip to Wales

I was walking the Llyn Peninsula Coastal Path last week, and what a fantastic variety of wildlife there was as coast met land. Mid afternoon at YVP.

Mallard, Magpie, Coot, Moorhen, Mute Swan, 2 Common Terns (on raft) Reed Bunting, Nuthatch, Dunnock, Grey Wagtail, BH Gulls, Blue and Great Tits, and (first I've seen at YVP) a Common Sandpiper on the raft closest to the car park.

Excellent and impressive list, Neil, well done.

Thought I caught a glimpse of a Ring Ouzel this morning along the Goit but thought perhaps it was wishful thinking, however its inclusion on the Bird Race list leads me to believe that it could have been.

My first Whitethroat this season along the Goit south of White Coppice.
