Field Trip to White Coppice - Saturday 20th April 2024

Meet at the cricket field car park at 9.00 am. Beware of the potholes on the access road. Grade 2 walk.
Perhaps we'll find the first cuckoo of the year, although the ones being tracked by the BTO are still in Africa, bar one which has made it to Portugal.

Indoor Meeting - Thursday 18th April 2024

April's indoor meeting is entitled 'A Year of Mothing' given by Dave Bickerton, who is Secretary of Lancashire and Cheshire Fauna Society. I'm sure it will be a fascinating talk, so please come along and support the group.
The meeting starts at 7.30 pm in St Mary's parish centre as usual.

Re: Sandwich Tern !

It's a bit of a surprise, but it does appear to be a first for the area. I suppose they are mainly coastal, and if they do come inland (I've seen them at Pennington Flash), they do just pass straight through, so it needs somebody like yourself, John, to get lucky, for us to get the record!
