Common Bank Lodge

A short lunch time visit today and saw a very smart male Mandarin down at the dam end. A buzzard Sat up in the trees at the road side of the dam end plus 2 song thrush in the woods near the kissing gate. Only other birds seen on lodge were mallard and coot. Chiffchaff heard...

One was definitely a RB Merganser however the other was distant towards Tarleton direction so just presumed RBM..

Eyes Lane

1st visit of the year to Eyes Lane for a swift lunchtime visit. 2 RB Merganser on river with teal mallard and moorhen. Plenty of skylark overhead with mixed gulls and a cormorant over. Buzzard sat on a hedge half way down. Couple of pied and one grey wag over....

Jack Green Farm / Brindle Lodge

Early evening walk from Gregson Lane around Jack Green / Private Road and Brindle Lodge.
All usual finches/tits and house sparrows. Also plenty of blackbirds seen throughout. At least 3 song thrush heard in Brindle Lodge and saw 23 lapwing flying over.

Evening stroll from Boat Yard pub to Withnell Fold and back Plenty of Canadas on eastern side of canal along with approx 10 hybrid geese.
