Two's company, three's a crowd. Male Mandarin trying to get in between a pair of Mallards on the lodge! Male Sparrowhawk over being escorted out by 8 House Martin. Swift's over as well. First sighting of Kestrel by the meadow for quite a while.

Swift takes me to 113 for the year.

Glorious this morning 6.30 to 8am. Good to hear Goldcrest singing in the woods, just one Blackcap. Wren, Robin, Blackbird and Song Thrush only other birds singing or calling. Plenty of bird song this morning on an early cycle.
Lesser Whitethroat on either side of Eccleston (Red Ln and Bannister Lane). At least 3 Common Whitethroat along Tunley Lane. Whitethroat, Yellowhammer and 3 Whimbrel on Coppull Moor Lane.

Nice to see Little Grebe again on the lodge today. Quieter in the woods, only 2 Blackcap evident but Willow Tit again along a section by the stream.
