Little Grebe and Emperor Dragonfly at the lodge. Broad Bodied Chaser, Southern Hawker and Banded Demoiselles on the small pond in the pasture. Buzzard and Sparrowhawk enjoying the thermals. Black Necked Grebe

Just back from a ride over and back to Belmont. As I cycled past Wards Reservoir a Black Necked Grebe was swimming close to the road. Presumably one of the birds displaced from High Rid reservoir by canoeists today.

Good to see the clearance work on the pond in the meadow opposite Gillibrand North is working. Pair of Emperor Dragonfly and 4 Four Spotter Chaser. Male and female Banded Demoiselles as well, and 'blue' Damselflies over the water.
Common Spotted and Marsh Orchid nearby.

Additional sightings today (Monday). Pair of Oystercatcher and adult Mediterranean Gull between the lodge and the first playing field on Gillibrand North estate. At least 8 swift over fields and meadow. Pair of Whitethroat on the meadow near the flooded pools. Kestrel hunting as well. Dipper on the ...

Y'day managed to get out for an evening cycle. Stand out obs were at least 10 Yellowhammer calling in different locations near Eccleston, Sollom, Eyes Lane, Wymott and Holker Lane. Kingfisher feeding on the big lodge. 2 young Grey Wagtail with adults. Young of Coal, Great and Blue Tit seen as well. Young Greenfinch

The garden was briefly visited by a family of Greenfinch this morning. Flew towards Gillibrand Hall where I suspect they were fledged.

Lovely pictures. Further families seen this morning were some gorgeous Treecreepers chasing a parent up a tree. Bullfinch as well.

Common Bank Lodge families

Little Grebe, Coot, Moorhen and Mallard youngsters on the lodge. 2 sets of Nuthatch young, as well as families of Blackcap, Great and Blue Tit, Robin and Blackbird.
Cormorant and male Mandarin as well.
