Still a few Alder leaf beetles around, though not the huge numbers of a couple of weeks ago.

The Great Grey Shrike was posing nicely by the ruins of Great Hill farm around 7.00 this evening, before it was mobbed by a gang of Meadow Pipits and flew off down Dean Black Brook. The neighborhood gardens and adjacent woodland are currently inundated with Alder leaf beetles, never seen them before ( I had to do a bit of googling to find out what they were)

I'll be there again Paul, I really enjoyed it last year, although as Tony says it was hard work sometimes with such a small team. Hopefully there'll be a few more volunteers this year.
