When I noticed 5 earlier in the week I noticed one was yellow. In the flock of 12 "some" had shorter tails but as they were high it was difficult to assess colouration. The colour and short tails being indicators of juveniles.

Very similar for me today, did a walk round the ressy. Many canada Goose, 2 buzzard over, 2 GC Grebe individually, 3+ Oystercatcher very vocal, Lapwing numerous at least 20 inc juvs, Little Ringed Plover a first for me in Chorley, Common Sandpiper adult only, Grey Heron 4, no cormorant seen, LBB and...

Also there this evening up to Great Hill, there were a great many mipits several of which taking caterpillars to young. Redpoll, reed bunting, linnet, great spotted pecker, 4 swift, single curlew heard at distancr, nuthatch, crow, pheasant, swallow.

River Yarrow (Foxholes)

Nice walk along the undesignated path along the Yarrow from the sewage works to Euxton. Only migrants a couple of blackcap. Highlight two kingfisher flushed in tandem. Heron. Moorhen. Quite a bit of giant hogweed but not pathside.
