Not sure if Gale Brook Plantation at Winter Hill is on "our" side of the fence but there was an @HawfinchesUK sighting of said species there on 19th Oct.

When I noticed 5 earlier in the week I noticed one was yellow. In the flock of 12 "some" had shorter tails but as they were high it was difficult to assess colouration. The colour and short tails being indicators of juveniles.

Very similar for me today, did a walk round the ressy. Also there this evening up to Great Hill, there were a great many mipits several of which taking caterpillars to young. Redpoll, reed bunting, linnet, great spotted pecker, 4 swift, single curlew heard at distancr, nuthatch, crow, pheasant, swallow.
