At 1.30 pm 3 Mandarins Top Lodge, one an eclipsed drake ,Two possibly three Bank Voles , very active near the normal place. Large Terrapin big lodge

Thursday 22/6 there was a large Hedgehog lying dead by the big lodge.

Lower Burg Meadows Dragonflies.

12.00 - 12.30. Plenty of Damselflies. mainly Large Red and a few Azure, but only one male Broad-bodied Chaser Seen.

Late afternoon, white Carrion Crow flew over the cricket pitch. Three Green Hairstreak Butterflies seen.

Mute Swans Yarrow Valley CP

12.00 today a pair of Swans displaying, chasing up and down, in the company of a young male. Adults later mated next to the bank of the big lodge. but half an hour later they had gone, another three had arrived 2 adult cobs and a last Summer cygnet.

Water Rail ,showing well from 11.00 until I left at 12.00. Juvenile and one adult Great Crested Grebe on big lodge, dead Cormorant on a raft.

Very strange that I had a male Silver-washed Fritillary in my garden, Harwood Bolton on 3/8/2022. With no known colony, wonder if someone has released them .

No other Fritillary like it all others have spots of one kind or another on the underwing. Plus the size is unmistakable . If it was a stray or a release we'll never know, but very few records in Lancashire and none near Bolton.
