Re: Finney Lane in Bretherton?
Gary, Long Moss Lane is in New Longton. With the exception of OS website data the internet is full of cartographic errors. I can hear a quail calling as I sit at my desk in the office now, it's been in the fields at the back of my house for 4 days. This one sounds very close, going out now to see if...

Finney Lane in Bretherton?
Hi All, Following my original posts of quail in Bretherton and your subsequent records, I note that there is some confusion regarding the name of this road. Just to clarify, please note that the road referred to as 'Finney Lane' is incorrect, it is a Google error that appeared several years ago on G...

Re: Corncrake
I think it was more of a case of it finding me Gary, had I not gone out with the dogs in the garden before bed I would never have heard it. Been out listening every night since but nothing heard.

Re: Charnock richard disused golf course .
I suspect that the site is full of great crested newts too. There are certainly breeding ponds close to the boundary of the site, Iv'e surveyed them but the golf club wouldn't give me access to theirs.
