Saw a red kite this morning 8:15am , chapel lane heapey, heading towards wheelton. First time I've seen one in Chorley area.

Someone been to collect, 2 torn wings one broken

Found an injured Bat with obvious broken wing hanging on garden wall. Rung Bat Conservation Group but no answer, anyone know who to ring or next step to help it out ? Cheers John

Still knocking about in the great outdoors, once a birder always a birder.

Tues 30th - 12:15pm 7 buzzards riding warm air over pear tree farm, 4 more seen towards astley park area. 5 Jay's seen together.

Yesterday 1st - 8:30am 3 lapwing, 11:30am 25 whooper swan over heading north.

Yesterday 25th - 3 sand martins in the afternoon
Today 26th- Osprey 3pm heading north being harassed by gull.

Saw a single lapwing struggling in the wind along yarrow valley way at 2:30pm it landed on grass verge at side of road. Coming back along road at 3:40pm there were 3 lapwing on grassed area, seemed like a cat was about to try it's luck !

Late afternoon on dog walking duties at Healey nab. Noted 15+ curlew, 4 lapwing in fields south of nab viewed from bridle path. 5 oystercatcher flying up and down anglezarke reservoir.

2 Swift, Pall Mall area near texaco garage this evening.

Cuckoo at White Coppice on Friday evening, not calling and very flighty.

4 in flight this morning 6:50am at Pall Mall (near Collingwood, burgh lane traffic lights). Very vocal, heard first then seen ,heard yesterday morning aswell.

Had a great stoat sighting yesterday morning at Heatherlea Wood. A family party of definitely 7, poss 8, came bounding and leaping out of the undergrowth onto the path I was on pausing briefing 2meters in front of me , gave an inquisitive look to me then disappeared into the undergrowth again.

There was a Hobby at White Coppice last night. Flying at speed along moorland top at around 8pm.

A fox along top of railway embankment at 9am today.
