Shrike still in same wooded area mid afternoon. Nearby pair of Stonechat and male Reed Bunting. Plenty Meadow Pipits and a couple of Red Grouse calling but not seen.

up to 21 Black headed gulls and 3 Herring have been visiting my garden during the cold weather. i am just over Runshaw Lane from Primrose Hill fields. The Starling murmuration over our house and Primrose Hill fields seemed to disappear for a few days but last night was around again with approx 130 b...

up to 500 have been in the murmuration the last 2 evenings. they eventually came down to roost in conifers on Runshaw Lane alongside the bridge over the M6. A spectacular sight and no doubt a nice bit of relief for the unfortunates who are stuck in the traffic queue every evening at this point.
