You'll have to hope this doesn't become too regular.
I had quite a few roost in a tree in my garden when I lived in Surrey.
Make a right racket and drive the birds off the feeders....

Re: Mother Swan
Neville - interesting info about the bye-laws. Still don't really understand why the council can't prosecute offenders who allow their dogs off lead in the play area though, even if it is next to Big Lodge. If a dog runs from Big Lodge to the play area with out being on lead then the owner gets a ti...

Re: Mother Swan
The area near the playground has "dogs must be on lead" signs but nobody seems to comply with this and, as far as I know, it's not enforced. I have had dogs run into me near Big Lodge (a friend of mine had her leg badly broken like this, not here though) and dogs run up to me in an aggressi...

Green Lane, Coppull
Kestrel hunting in the fields off Green Lane.
Watched for some time - lovely view.
Fortunately for the rodents the kestrel didn't appear to be successful.

YVP Weir - 22OCT2014
Grey heron fishing just upstream of the weir.
Brown trout jumping in front of the weir. Several attempts made. Judging from the varying sizes I'd say that there were at least 3 fish.

Re: Green visitor?
I hope they're not spreading round here.
When I lived in the South they were becoming a pest - make a racket, and drive other birds away from feeders etc.
