2 kestrel , 1 buzzard , 1 sparrowhawk , plenty of water on the great close pools which had attracted bh gulls , corvids and 4 oystercatcher , curlew passed over , a very dark hybrid mallard type duck had 9 ducklings on a drainage ditch , whitethroat , chiffchaff , blackcap and yellowhammer in song ,...

Went in hope of a rarity with the recent weather , 6 gc grebes , 40+ lapwing , 40 lbb gulls , 20 + bh gulls , 1 herring gull , 2 common tern , 2 oystercatcher , several swallow , 1 swift , 1 pied wagtail .

Sightings from last night , at least 6 singing yellowhammers , 3 corn bunting ( 1 on the finney ) 10+ whitethroat , large corvid flock , 2 calling red legged partridge , 4 buzzard , 1 kestrel , 1 sparrowhawk seen carrying prey , several song thrush , only 3 lapwing , several linnet , 1 pied wagtail ...

All the usual species seen with no sign of the quail again , possible sighting of at least 3 purple hairstreak butterfly high up in the oaks along nook lane .

3 raven flying along the line of pylons , oystercatcher heard , kestrel , at least 1 reed warbler heard along the douglas towards bank hall , several mallard on the river , 2 juv swallow with 2 adults near to the bridge , 2 yellowhammer , 2 whitethroat , also had a walk along the canal were i spotte...

Its victim was a juvenile starling , also witnessed another female sparrowhawk with an adult starling the other day but the starling was very lucky and was dropped and escaped .
