A large flock of 60-80 Linnets on one of the maize fields was unusual for here, usually see big flocks on Croston Moss but not here, also 27 Lapwing with 9 on the fields and 18 in flight, 4 Song Thrush, 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Snipe, 1 Gt.Spotted Woodpecker drumming, 18 Canada Geese, 3 Moorhens, 1 Coot, ...

A few Song Thrushes singing this morning, apart from 3 Gooseanders (1m 2f) flying above the River and a Raven calling continously it was pretty quiet, the Raven was seen near to the farm by Anchorfields. still a few Hundred Wood Pigeons and plenty of Corvids feeding on the Maize.

Kingfisher again. Eccleston.

Kingfisher in my garden again though very briefly, landed on bird table then flew off again almost straight away. Also Goldcrest feeding in a conifer.

A flock of 50+ birds in bushes seen in poor light, mainly Chaffinches with at least 8 Tree Sparrows, 2 Greenfinches and 3 Reed Buntings in amongst them also seen c30 Fieldfare, 15 Redwings, 3 Moorhens, 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 1 Heron, 2 Snipe, 150+ Wood Pigeon and 50+ Jackdaws.

Not many birds around in the hard frost and the ponds frozen over, a Raven flew oveer cronking, also 2 Linnets were seen I don't usually see any here until the spring. A Gt. Spotted Woodpecker was seen yesterday.

Cold and frosty, 10 Whooper Swans flew over heading East, also seen 3 Buzzards, 1 Tree Creeper, c25 Redwings, 15 Fieldfare, 1 Mistle Thrush, 2 Reed Buntings, 2 Teal, 28 Pinkfeet flying over Croston Moss, 1 Bullfinch, c200 wood Pigeons, 2 Stock Dove, 3 Mandarin, 1 Pied Wagtail and 4 Pheasants.
