Re: Nuthatch behaviour

I have notice this behaviour all the time in my garden, especially the Sunflower Hearts, they push them between the planks and cross rales of my fencing, then the squirrel comes along and sniffs them out.

Re: Mown verges

Hi Everyone, Great that Chorley Council have left some of the verges un mown. This will have increased insects in the area, which is great for the wildlife further up the chain. However, if at the end of the season ( presumably Mid September ) the area left un mown is then cut to the ground, through...

Re: Small mammals

Hi Paul,
I use to mark moths from the trap with a small dab of nail varnish, this was to determine if the moths came back to the traps the night after.
It would work for your small mammals ( if it's legal) Have fun asking for nail varnish in the shop :)

Re: Mown verges

You need to plant perennial Wildflowers on the verges and not the none native Annual mix, chorley council wont do anything to do this, there response will be they get more emails of complaints from residents if they are not mown and it's LCC' who cut the grass yet they carry on Building property and...
