3 Roe Deer seen in the cemetery today, the first report I have heard of in this location so close to the town centre.

Winter Hill

From Hordern Stoops to the main mast compound and return 16:40 to 18:30 Winter Hill - 1 Raven, 1 Meadow Pipit and 1 Black Redstart in the main mast compound. Also a second Black Redstart reported in the Rocket Mast compound, though I couldn't find it. I was talking to a birder who was looking for it...

Birds seen/heard - 3 Magpie, 2 Carrion Crow, Nuthatch heard, Goldcrest heard, Robin heard. 2 Woodpigeon over & Common Buzzard heard. Great Knowley sightings

At 13:15 today there were 5 Common Buzzard circling above my house before drifting off southwards, followed 5 minutes later by 2 more. The resident pair of Buzzard were also seen giving a total of 9 Buzzards within 10 minutes. Also seen was a female Kestrel.

Went to Winter Hill this morning, but completely covered by low cloud/fog so I went along Georges Lane/Belmont Road and round the back of the Pike instead. Flooded fields Croston/Bretherton

Meadow Lane, Croston am - 50+ Black headed Gulls and approx 200 Lapwing, 30+ Starling and several Skylark heard.

Eyes Lane Bretherton am - 2 pairs of Mute Swans, 40+ Black Headed Gulls, 6+ Mallard, 3+ Pheasant and 3 Chaffinch.

Birds seen/heard - 2 Nuthatch seen and a further one heard, 1 Great Tit, Woodpigeon, 2 Magpie, Jay heard, Goldcrest heard.

Mammals - 2 Grey Squirrel

Fungi - Clustered Brittlestem, Butter Waxcap, Stump Puffball, White Saddle, Purple Brittlegill, The Deceiver, Blushing Wood Mushroom.

200+ Black Headed Gulls, no large Gulls, flock of around 80 Lapwings were in the air when I arrived and flew off, around 40 had returned when I left. A flock of 30+ Canada Geese flew over headed towards Eyes Lane. The only other bird was a single Common Redshank.
