A large swarm of bees has just flown over our house on Pilling Lane twice about an hour apart, incredible noise.

Hummingbird Hawk Moth
A Hummingbird Hawk Moth, was flitting around yesterday afternoon on one of my Buddleias.
Also a Large White and a Red Admiral butterflies, very low numbers of butterflies this year.
Moth was too quick for a photo though.

Having looked further, I am not sure I can really take it further than Ancistrocerus.
There are a few that look very similar, although you know more than me about insects, so if you are happy with Gazella.
