Ivan, I've never observed g/crests so close before and was amazed at their agility, that coupled with the acrobatic antics of the ltts was something special.

Your right Ivan about the Long tails, I took a picture of several feeding this week, including upside down shots but only average picture off small camera, however they will hang about, whereas the Willow tit is very reluctant to hang about feeding - just in and out

Thanks for that Ivan, will await these displays, roll on the next few weeks. Been studying Willow tits of late and their cousins the L.T. tits. Big difference but also very interesting. Regards.

Peregrines 15.01.2012

Two peregrines in acrobatic flight over the centre of Chorley on Sunday, early am.. Few minutes later three b/h gulls were reduced to two as one of the peregrines dived and scored a hit. Very dramatic.

Your quite right Bryan, I have seen more finches (goldfinch/linnets) on this small stretch than on a long country walk. However, this year I haven't seen a Greenfinch in this area. In fact I have not seen many at all in any area I have visited. Other members may comment on this.

Regards, Peter
